Meet the BCC Staff

Tim Woolwine is so excited to begin his first season as the Artistic Director of the Blacksburg Children’s Chorale! Tim is also the Minister of Music and Communications Director at Church on Main in Blacksburg. He has been a music educator for 17 years, having spent the last 10 years as the Choir Director at Blacksburg High School! Tim has also taught band and choir in Giles and Augusta County Public Schools. He received his degree in Music Education from Radford University. He’s married to his high school sweetheart, Erin and they have two boys, Eli and Noah, and two dogs, Lucy and Dolly.

Charlotte Smith received her Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Radford University with a minor in voice and piano.  For 24 years she taught music in the Montgomery County School system, with 21 years being at Christiansburg High School.  During this time she held every office in the Virginia Choral Directors Association, as well as serving as the President of the Virginia Music Educators Association. Charlotte has been involved in church music since January of 1980, serving as music/choir director in several local churches.  In August of 2003 she became the full-time Minister of Music and Worship at Church On Main where she directed the childrens, youth, college and adult choirs, handbell choirs, ensembles, and led music for all worship services.  She retired in July of 2023 and is enjoying traveling, accompanying students at Virginia Tech and spending time with her family. She’s excited to be playing piano for BCC!

Erin Woolwine is a kindergarten teacher at Falling Branch Elementary and has been teaching for 7 years. She loves working with children and is excited to join the BCC Staff! Erin loves spending time with her family & dogs and loves to read! She received her degree in Elementary Education from Radford University.

We’re so happy to have Erin Krug working with us this year! Erin is a senior music education major at Virginia Tech from Christiansburg.
